Welcome to Ms. Byrd's ClassMy name is Ms. Byrd and I am so excited to be your fourth grader’s teacher for the rest of this year! We are going to work hard, learn all sorts of really cool things and have fun doing it! My favorite part of being a teacher is witnessing great kids accomplish amazing things! I have high expectations for ALL of my students and I know that they will put in 100% effort and do their best!

EXPECTATIONS |
*Student accountability and responsibility for learning
*Self-management of appropriate behaviors *Student production and evidence of meeting prescribed learning targets Simply put: respect, responsibility and effort is expected from ALL students. Students adhere to a behavior management system. Students are assigned to a color based on behavior. All students start on green. Colors may be changed to purple, yellow, orange or red depending on self management of behaviors. Consequences are given (positive or negative) dependent on a student's color. Student performance is assessed regularly in the classroom but also by using standardized tests that measure performance and provide feedback. Teachers use the data and information from these tests to inform their instruction to meet the needs of each student. Expectations are high and students who perform well on these tests are recognized for their efforts. |
SPECIAL NOTE |
We are wrapping up this school year. As we say our goodbyes and prepare to move on to fifth grade, I would just like ALL of my fourth grade students and families to know it has been a pleasure and a joyful experience working with you all. You will be missed, but you have great things to come. Good luck and have a great summer vacation.
